24 Ιαν 2021 · Not to mention with this route your digital titles are not available to you, you're basically getting a compatible blu-ray drive to rip your PS3 game discs, your console doesn't actually come into the picture. All this info comes from the RPCS3 docs, I too have an aging PS3 I tried to salvage before it was too late.

19 Ιαν 2024 · I'm just getting started with emulation for the XB360/PS3 era. Which system is the better emulation tool for 2024? I prefer XB360 because I owned one back in the day but from what I read, the XB360 emulation is somewhat more recent and the PS4 emulator has been around for longer.

Until Ps2 we are ok with emulator, even gamecube, wii, wiiu are fine for emulation - cpu goes only upto 70c temperature. PS3 and switch emulators REALLY brings cpu to knees - I saw 93C one time (mine is i5 12th gen i240p) . Conclusion: With todays average hardware avoid emulating ps3 , switch . Definitely they make your cpu hotter.
20 Φεβ 2022 · the only ps3 emulator listed on wikipedia is rpcs3. there is an open issue on the rpcs3 github for a core, looks like someone put a bounty up for it. as for running on the series x, there are some roadblocks. What needs to be done first: Someone makes a Linux distro or Windows 10 with regular AMD drivers run on the console OR
2 Οκτ 2020 · I have RetroArch installed on my PC and am wanting to play PS3 games on my PC. My understanding is that I need to download and load a PS3 core via RetroArch. However when I go to "Load Core", it only goes as high as PS2. When looking at the downloads page on the RetroArch site, it lists PS3 (PSL1GHT) but the link is broken.
25 Δεκ 2022 · From my tests, the RPCS3 version is much more optimized than a few years ago but still stuttery, and the emulator is far better in terms of config, interface and settings. The audio was almost completely broken no matter the settings. Average of 30-50 fps with stuttering.

I don’t want duplicates so if there is a better option for let’s say gta or other games on both consoles which one should I choose? Edit: GTA was a bad example. Looking for the same game on both emulators but not PC. Which emulator is better to run on the steam deck
10 Μαρ 2024 · If Sony started selling their own PS3 titles on PlayStation network with a PS3 emulator, then it would make sense to get worried. Until then, don’t sweat it. To be completely honest though, I have a feeling Sony is letting the emulation community do the legwork on RPCS3 so they can look at the research and speed up their own in-house efforts.
