Eurasian lynx are one of the most widely distributed cat species. Their range once extended throughout Russia, Central Asia, and Europe. Today they occupy a range extending from western Europe through the Russian boreal forests and to the Tibetan Plateau and Central Asia.
Eurasian lynx breed in February and March, giving birth after a 68 day gestation period. Litter sizes are normally 2 or 3. Litters larger than 4 have never been reported.
