16 Μαρ 2013 · You can use \fbox and a minipage (or a \parbox) of the desired (fixed) width; another option would be to use the varwidth environment from the varwidth package, so the resulting width is the natural width of the contents. A little example showing both approaches:

21 Ιαν 2021 · You can add a frame around it by placing it inside a \fbox{...} command. \fbox{\includegraphics[options]{image}} The distance can be set by changing the \fboxsep length and the line width with the \fboxrule length, e.g. to draw a tight 1pt thick rule around the image use:
28 Μαρ 2019 · The problem is, that the category codes are fixed if the contents are grabbed as an argument once. The following uses the grabbox package, to define an alternative form of \fbox that doesn't grab its contents as an argument but as a \hbox (you could use the collectbox package, too).
Is there an \arrayrulecolor-like command to change the rule color of \fbox? I'm using an \fbox to have a border around a minipage. \fbox{ \begin{minipage}{0.25\textwidth} my content \end{minipage} } Is there any way to set the border color of the \fbox?

By default, \fbox and the underlying \fr@meb@x use a single length \fboxsep for the separation of the box content from the box margin (and rule) -- This is easier of course and is also connected to the fact that in earlier times there weren't much length registers at hand just to squander them.
You can't use a floating environment (figure or table or any other user defined floating object) inside a box (in this case, an \fbox). Blank lines (or equivalently, \par commands) inside an \fbox (or an \hbox) won't produce an end of paragraph. As others have suggested, you can use the framed package to produce a frame surroundig some material.

17 Ιαν 2015 · I do like that fbox leaves a little space on the inside (so that b is not touched by the lines), but then fbox "screws up" the vertical spacing in my paragraphs and tables. "screw up" is the wrong phrase, because adding vertical space to its line makes a lot of sense when one does not want text from one line to bleed into the other for some ...
