25 Αυγ 2023 · Pell Grant scheduled awards are based on the 9-month Expected Family Contribution (EFC) on the student’s valid SAR or ISIR, the academic year structure (see Volume 3, Chapter 1), and the cost of attendance (COA) for a full-time student for a full academic year (see Volume 3, Chapter 2).
Beginning with FAFSA year 2024-25, the Student Aid Index (SAI) has replaced the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) formula. The SAI is similar to the EFC with a few different factors that will now be considered when determining the student’s aid.
20 Μαρ 2024 · The EFC is also the single factor that determines whether you’re eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. Applicants whose EFC is less than 90% of the maximum Federal Pell Grant will receive a Federal Pell Grant. Applicants with a zero EFC will receive the maximum Federal Pell Grant.
