Set the points too wide and the spark plugs don't get enough juice. Set them too close and the engine works fine for a few miles… until the points are burnt beyond use.

6 Νοε 2008 · AutoZone does not have the point gap at the store. Online, they just list the dwell as 24 to 29. I also searched the forum. I am still new to the forum, maybe I missed it. I would like the point gap for the 302. Also the timing. I have 35 as the plug gap.

6 Αυγ 2004 · point gap for a 70 302. Bout 1 foot from the bottom of the bin after you install electronic ign . Seriously 15 thou is good. this is my beater truck, I just put in my spare points from the fairlane (converted that to ignitor) so I need to set it now.

28 Δεκ 2009 · Dwell angle should be set at 35-38 degrees at idle with piont gap spacing at .024 to .026. Initial ignition timing should be set at around 6 degrees BTDC for a manual, 12 degrees for an automatic. Engine idle speed should be 575-600 for a manual, 500-525 (in "drive") for an auto.
