7 Δεκ 2020 · Contact Grabify with what happened to see if they can get you the IP of the user. If so you can have the connection subpoenaed to see if the person is still on that IP. This will likely not work but, it can also be used by investigators to run a correlation attack if the person decides to keep coming back somehow. My Suggestion: Save the evidence.

9 Δεκ 2016 · Each time someone click the grabify link, they log the IP, time (and perhaps other info like browser header, etc) then redirect to the original link (just like URL shortener). Pointless for someone having their own server (since you can just do it in your webpage in the first place), but probably useful for someone in advertising business (confirming clicks, analyzing views).

Then you paste the Imgur link into grabify to create a new link. Then that new link still links to Imgur but it also will grab the IP if anyone who uses it. Grabify is one of the best known IP-loggers. An IP logger basically allows the person who sent you the link to know approximately where you are if you click it. Usually this is accurate down to the town level, but on mobile connections the accuracy is usually worse.
2 Φεβ 2020 · You can try yourself what the "attacker" and also any website you visit can see. Just create your own link at grabify, visit it and check the result. I've tried myself and for example the location is way off (another town) and the claimed device name is actually only its IP address again. Not actually impressive and nothing to worry about.
27 Απρ 2022 · For any who doesn't know: Grabify lets you create a redirect link that'll grab IP info when clicked. My issue is that Grabify is becoming more and more well known, meaning scammers are not willing to click the link. Ideally I'd like one that allows WhatsApp, etc. to show a preview of the image/website.

With the IP address, you can find their location, what device they're using, their ISP, and more. You can use this if you feel like scaring some scammers.
