State Route 9 (SR 9) is a 98.17-mile (157.99 km) long state highway traversing three counties, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom, in the U.S. state of Washington.
The 21-mile segment of SR 9 typifies a historic highway in Washington: a relatively narrow, two-lane roadway with narrow or no shoulders, with occasional widening, restricted sight distance, limited clear zones, railroad and rural road at-grade crossings and frequent reduced speed limits due to curves, some 90 degrees.

8 Ιουν 2008 · On Sunday, June 8, 2008, we drove the length of Washington State Highway 9, almost a hundred miles long, from the Seattle area north to the Canadian border. This is the road to take if you want to get out of the country, but not as fast as I-5 would take you.
This map shows the improvements planned at the SR 9/SR 204 intersection in Lake Stevens. It includes strategically placed roundabouts and highway widening. The improvements will be built in stages.
