Ilex crenata Convexa is evergreen and is superb at creating dense and bushy low hedges. Good in most soils except wet, it will grow in light shade and take some coastal exposure. It does best in a slightly acidic soil but easily kept with an acid feed.
Perfect for creating parterres and low hedges, this compact, bushy evergreen can be clipped into a variety of shapes, so it's also ideal for creating topiary. Easy to grow in a wide range of settings, it has an excellent resistance to diseases, so it makes an ideal alternative to Buxus.
