Whistleblower Protection. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act (5 ILCS 430/15), provides “whistle blower” protections to State employees who report, or threaten to report, wrongdoing, provide information or testify regarding wrongdoing, or assist in the enforcement of the Ethics Act.

14 Δεκ 2020 · The Illinois Whistleblower Act protects employees because it prohibits employers from creating or enforcing rules or policies that prevent employees from disclosing information to the necessary agency if the employee has a reasonable belief that the employer is engaging in illegal activity.
The Illinois Whistleblower Act (IWA) 740 ILCS 174/1, et seq., provides employees with a broad statutory remedy for wrongful termination or retaliation short of termination such as a suspension or demotion, including constructive discharge.
