Independence Dam State Park is located along the banks of the beautiful Maumee State Scenic River, which is ideal for boating, fishing, or paddling. Remnants of Ohio's canal era is evident along 7 miles of the historic canal, which runs between County Road 424 and the park.
The campground at Independence Dam State Park is along the Maumee River and offers seasonal (April 1 - Oct 31), primitive campsites for tents only. Please be aware there is no potable water. Pets are allowed on all sites but must be leashed at all times.

However, now it is better known as a fabulous public recreational space to enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits.
