ISA registered umpires are covered for any ISA sanctioned activity. Coverage includes $2,000,000 general liability policy and secondary Accident Medical of $50,000 with a $250 deductible. Team insurance for ISA teams is available for purchase on the ISA website.
USA Softball umpires are nationally recognized as the best trained and proficient in the sport and are involved in competition starting with league play, city, state and national championships. Ultimately, USA Softball umpires could officiate events such as world championship, Pan American and Olympic competitions.

The Independent Softball Association, now known as the Independent Sports Association (ISA), is one of four governing bodies for softball in North America. The ISA was founded by Larry Nash with the help of his wife Connie, in 1984 in Shelbyville, Tennessee .
In no event will a team be awarded a favorable decision on a protest where that team has used trickery, deception or wrongful interpretation of a rule by an umpire, ISA Offi-cial or Tournament Director.
