29 Μαρ 2022 · The Nines The beloved pizza joint took its name from its building—the original, early 1900s home of Ithaca’s Fire Station No. 9. A new station was built next door in the 1960s, and the Nines opened in the early 1970s as a bar, restaurant, and music venue (first called “Old No. 9”).
4 Ιουν 2018 · We’ll say it right up front: The Nines, the popular Ithaca restaurant, isn’t going to be around much longer no matter what’s decided about the historic landmark status of the building on College Avenue.
The Nines is closing in a few weeks, and the one and only Pete Panek and the Blue Cats will headline the iconic nightspot’s final show on October 6th. The City of Ithaca’s Common Council narrowly voted in June not to designate the Collegetown bar and restaurant as an historic landmark.
