30 Ιουλ 2024 · One reason you might need IVIG is if your body does not make enough antibodies. This is called "humoral immunodeficiency"; it may be primary (something you are born with) or secondary (caused by another condition). The IVIG simply provides extra antibodies that your body cannot make on its own.
Dose - IVIG is indicated for patients with primary immunodeficiency at a starting dose of 400-600 mg/kg every 3-4 weeks. Less frequent treatment, or use of lower doses, is not substantiated by clinical data.
