True Grit is a 2010 American Western film directed, written, produced, and edited by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen. It is an adaptation of Charles Portis' 1968 novel. Starring Jeff Bridges as Deputy U.S. Marshal Reuben J. "Rooster" Cogburn and with young new actress Hailee Steinfeld (in her theatrical film debut) as Mattie Ross.

True Grit (1969/2010): a side-by-side comparison of the two film adaptations. One of those rare cases where the remake is not only as good as the original, it stands head and shoulders above it. Honestly, as much a fan of John Wayne as I am, I really enjoy the remake a bit better. Jeff bridges and Hailee killed it.
