Families may get cash assistance while they look for work as long as they meet program requirements. The requirements include cooperating with DCF Child Support Services Division. Families who get TANF may also get medical benefits and child care.
Apply for medical assistance benefits through the Kansas Health Policy Authority (KHPA). Request an application from KHPA at 1-800-792-4884, or obtain one at your local SRS office. To find a nearby office, use the online Kansas SRS online office locator (see Resources).
Cash assistance is a time-limited, federally-funded program. This means that in the state of Kansas you may only receive 24 months of cash assistance in your lifetime. Any months you have received in other states also count toward this 24 month limit.
You can use your Kansas EBT Card at participating stores, online at approved retailers, and at ATMs (cash machines for Cash benefits only) across the country.
