Kate St John (born 2 October 1957) is an English composer, arranger, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Career. Classically trained on oboe, St John's first band was Ravishing Beauties with Virginia Astley and Nicky Holland.

I am a composer, arranger, music director and instrumentalist (oboe, cor anglais, accordion, saxophone and piano). I was a member of The Ravishing Beauties, The Dream Academy and Channel Light Vessel and I have recorded two solo albums: Indescribable Night and Second Sight.
No Goodbyes. Kate St. John. Neill MacColl and I worked on the recent film version of Far From The Madding Crowd organising and sourcing all the folk music and hymns that appear in the film. We wrote this orchestral arrangement of the folk song Let No Man Steal Your Thyme for the end roller.
