5 Απρ 2024 · The 13-mile I-635/Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) Freeway Managed Lanes project in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex area (Texas) will rebuild and expand the I-635/I-35E loop around Dallas. The LBJ is one of the busiest highways in Texas, and is congested virtually round-the-clock.
TxDOT has evaluated the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a project to reconstruct and widen I-635 from US 75 to I-30 in Dallas County, including the I-635/I-30 interchange (I-635 LBJ East Project).
The 13.3-mile LBJ TEXpress Lanes on I-635 and I-35E in Dallas are part of a sophisticated new tollway system in North Texas, designed to provide drivers with faster, more reliable trips and no stop-and-go driving.
20 Ιαν 2003 · The 11-mile 635 East Project will reconstruct and widen I-635 from US 75 to I-30, including the I-635/I-30 interchange. The general-purpose lanes will be expanded and the existing tolled managed lanes will be rebuilt.
Congestion Relief – In 1969 I-635 was built to accommodate 180,000 vehicles per day. Today, in the project area, average daily traffic counts exceed 270,000 vehicles. Future corridor traffic demand is estimated to exceed 450,000 vehicles by the year 2020.
90 bridges including multiple three level interchanges and direct connectors with two major congested freeways. Live traffic with AADT > 200,000. The LBJ Express project will rebuild IH 635, one of the busiest and most congested highways in North Texas.
