Using Management Studio, you can create maintenance plans in one of two ways: by either using the Maintenance Plan Wizard or the design surface.
Maintenance plans create a workflow of the tasks required to make sure that your database is optimized, regularly backed up, and free of inconsistencies. The Maintenance Plan Wizard also creates core maintenance plans, but creating plans manually gives you much more flexibility.

21 Αυγ 2022 · When I'm trying to create a new maintenance plan in SQL Server, it is showing this error: TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio ----- 'Agent XPs' component is turned off as part of the security configuration for this server. A system administrator can enable the use of 'Agent XPs' by using sp_configure.
The Maintenance Plan Wizard can be started from SQL Server Management Studio and can be found in the Management section of the tree in SSMS. It creates scheduled jobs which are run by the SQL Server Agent and can perform the following tasks: Reorganize index pages. Rebuild indexes. Update statistics on the indexes.
