Understand Google Maps app features. To help you access features faster, Google Maps app has been updated. When you open the Google Maps app, you can find these tabs at the bottom of the Home Screen: Explore : Choose where to go. You : Create lists, recall places, and find your saved trips, notifications, and messages.

On your computer, open Google Maps. Click Directions . Click points on the map, type an address, or add a place name. Choose your mode of transportation. To get driving directions, click Driving . To get transit directions, click Transit . To get walking directions, click Walking . To get rideshare or taxi options, click Ride .
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app . Open Google Maps. If you don’t yet have the app, download it from the Play Store. Search for your destination or tap it on the map. In the bottom left, tap Directions . Choose your mode of transportation. To get driving directions, tap Driving .
To pan, or move the map: Drag the view in any direction. To move North, press the Up arrow. To move South, press the Down arrow. To move East, press the Right arrow. To move West, press the Left arrow. Zoom in or out. To zoom in and out of the sky: Press the + or -key. Move your cursor over a place on the map and use the mouse scroll button.
To close or remove a custom map from appearing in Google Maps: Tap a place, line, or region from the My Map. At the bottom, tap the My Maps icon . Tap View Map Legend. Tap Close . On your mobile device or tablet, open the Google Maps app . Tap Layers . Select Street View, then tap . Tap on any blue line. Tap the "See more dates" link. Not all locations on Google Maps have this link. At the bottom, scroll and select an image in the carousel. When you’re done, at the top left, tap Close .
Add a missing place to Google Maps. You can add missing places to the map. The place shows publicly once it’s added. Places you can add include landmarks, coffee shops, or other local businesses. Learn how to fix a missing address or pin location.
Get the coordinates of a place. On your computer, open Google Maps. Right-click the place or area on the map. This will open a pop-up window. You can find your latitude and longitude in decimal format at the top. To copy the coordinates automatically, left click on the latitude and longitude.
On your computer, open Google Maps. In the top left, click Menu . Choose Language. Select a language. Map labels will be shown in your country’s local language, but you’ll find place information in the language you selected. Optional: Learn how to change your language for all Google products.
