24 Οκτ 2024 · Early in 40 Antony’s brother, the consul Lucius Antonius, supported by Antony’s wife, Fulvia, rebelled against Octavian in Italy. Octavian defeated the rebellion, capturing and destroying Perusia (present-day Perugia).
Antony moved back west and peace was patched up in 40 B.C.E. with Antony's wedding to Octavian's sister, Octavia, after the death of Antony's first wife. Antony soon went east again, beating back the Parthians.
Fulvia (died 40 bc, Sicyon, Greece) was the wife of Mark Antony, and a participant in the struggle for power following the death of Julius Caesar. Fulvia was the daughter of Marcus Fulvius Bambalio of Tusculum. She was first married to the demagogic politician Publius Clodius Pulcher.
