Math Apps. These free apps are based on the visual models featured in Bridges in Mathematics. Apps are available in multiple versions: a web app for all modern browsers, and downloadable versions for specific operating systems and devices (such as Apple iOS for iPad).
Bridges in Mathematics is a full PK-5 curriculum featuring relevant, open-ended tasks and a coherent set of visual models to help students develop their conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving abilities.
Use the pieces to represent single-, double-, and triple-digit numbers. Join pieces together or break pieces apart to visualize regrouping. Build arrays with number pieces to explore multiplication and division.
Number Pieces helps students develop a deeper understanding of place value while building their computation skills with multi-digit numbers. Students use the pieces to represent multi-digit numbers, regroup, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
The Fractions app lets students use a bar or circle to represent, compare, and perform operations with fractions with denominators from 1 to 100. Choose to create a bar or circle fraction and choose the total number of equal parts in the whole. Then show a fraction by filling in parts of the whole with color.
Grades 3–4. Opening Eyes to Mathematics introduces third and fourth grade children to the beauty and excitement of mathematics. Students use models, manipulatives, and visual thinking to explore mathematics, develop understanding, and solve problems.
