16 Ιαν 2021 · In this article and Video 1, we report the surgical technique of arthroscopic primary MCL repair with suture anchor that can be used in cases of isolated MCL injury, combined ACL and MCL injury, or multiligamentous knee injury.
The treatment of ligamentous injuries around the knee continues to evolve at a rapid pace. Although the majority of both isolated and concomitant acute MCL injuries are treated without surgery, there are specific MCL injuries that require operative intervention.
6 Ιουλ 2024 · Learn about the surgical repair options available for severe MCL injuries, including direct repair and reconstruction, and understand the minimally invasive process aimed at restoring knee stability and function.
26 Σεπ 2019 · The outside-in, percutaneous release of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) is a technique used to increase the medial tibiofemoral joint space during arthroscopy to facilitate the use of instrumentation and improve visualization without causing iatrogenic cartilage damage.
We recommend performing medial collateral release in surgeries that access the posteromedial compartment (e.g. partial meniscectomy for ruptures of the posterior horn of medial meniscus or posterior root repairs) when the patient has a tight tibiofemoral joint space.
25 Σεπ 2020 · We describe a simple, minimally invasive technique that involves suturing the deep MCL to the medial joint capsule, allowing better MCL healing, causing less soft-tissue scarring, and preventing meniscal extrusion.
In patients with MCL with primary ACL reconstruction, return to preinjury activity level in recreational athletes can be achieved. The medial collateral ligament (MCL) is the primary restraint to valgus stability of the knee.
