Contractors and tradesmen working in Miami-Dade County are licensed by Miami-Dade County's Contractor Licensing Section. The Construction Trades Qualifying Board has authority over these types of licenses and scopes of licenses that are issued.
If you are a tradesman or a contractor, you must renew your license generally every two years. You will receive a renewal notice two months before the expiration of your active license.
You can search our database for contractors that have been issued a Miami-Dade County Certificate of Competency. The results will display the contractor information, status and complaints, if any.
Miami-Dade County Code (Chapter 10) and Florida Statutes (Chapter 489) require that contractors be licensed. The Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) regulates licensed contractors and provides enforcement against unlicensed contractors.
