27 Φεβ 2010 · I want to tell you about Ralph Patterson’s free plans for a ball turning tool post that will fit a 7-by-whatever mini-lathe, and show you how he used it to fix a broken shower head. I’ve also included a YouTube video that shows a similar tool post being used to make a ball end for a tool handle.
My design is based around a hollow cylindrical central tool post which is split vertically into 4 sections, allowing it to expand and lock the tool holders in place by tightening a nut.
This article show you how to make this Quick Change Toolpost which suits popular 7x12 and similar mini-lathes. The design is also suitable for almost any lathe of about 3 1/2" or 80mm centre height including Myford ML7 and Super 7 lathes. 24 Δεκ 2008 · Just thought I might share my progress on making a QCTP for my lathe. The original tool post is the standard type that is 75mm square and 65mm high. The new tool post is based on a design that pulls the tool holder into the tool post.
29 Νοε 2017 · I found a design for a tangential tool holder that uses the latter approach, and, in addition, splits the two different angles among two separate parts, rather than needing a complicated setup to mill the compound angle needed for a one-piece approach.
