15 Αυγ 2013 · From my experience the 6.5 Grendel is a very accurate cartridge and pleasant to shoot. Add to the fact it fits in a standard AR-15 platform makes it a winner for me. I shot my 20" Shilen today at 650 yards, less than MOA groups and was hitting a 12" X 8" steel target.
24'' AR15 Tactical Upper Half, 6.5 Sporter, fluted with chrome lined chamber & bore, 1-9 twist: $525.00
11 Ιαν 2015 · I noticed that there's no chrome lined chamber and bore option in the 6.5 with Model 1 Sales. You can get a stainless, fluted barrel in the SPR 18" option but I really just wanted chrome lined. It's my understanding that one of the big fixes for the AR-15/M-16 that helped reliability was to chrome line the barrel and chamber.
30 Οκτ 2012 · I put 40 rounds thru it today using Hornady 6.5 ammo with 123gr Amax. It shot sub moa and ate this ammo while begging for more! I just finished taking it apart and cleaning and I must say that I am more than happy with the work Model 1 has done on this upper.
22 Νοε 2012 · The bolt on Model 1 sales 6.5 Sporter varient uses the 7.62 X 39 bolt. A true 6.5 Grendel uses a recessed bolt similar to a Colt 7.62 X 39 bolt but with a recessed bolt face by a few thousandths. Most true 6.5 Grendel barrels are sold with a matching bolt.
20 Φεβ 2009 · I was just thinning the reading pile and noticed a full color ad from Model 1 Sales that advertised a new upper option: 6.5 Sporter. I looked all over their website (including search function) and came up empty handed. I suspect this could be a new chambering for the Grendel, but they cannot use the name (much like the .300 Wisper/Fireball debate).
The 6.5mm Grendel is an intermediate cartridge jointly designed by British-American armorer Bill Alexander, competitive shooter Arne Brennan (of Houston, Texas) and Lapua ballistician Janne Pohjoispää, as a low- recoil, high- precision rifle cartridge specifically for the AR-15 platform at medium/long range (200–800 yard).
