13 Απρ 2013 · Morgan frames are indeed steel, full-length Z-profiles with the upper flanges outward and the lower flanges inward, so that the (wooden) floorboards can sit on the lower flanges. The driveshaft runs above the level of the floor, and some versions prior to c.1960 had "divorced" gearboxes between the seats.

12 Μαρ 2013 · They used wood because it was lighter and stiffer that a metal frame. The car is a 1966 Marcos 1800 GT. There are perhaps a dozen of these cars scattered about the USA, all licensed and being driven on the street. Mine is a dedicated race car at this point and is #79 of 99 built between 1963 and 1966.
20 Δεκ 2019 · Tack the spring mounts in place so the frame becomes one unit, and then sit the body and motor/trans in place and see how much the ground dimension changes. 11 Ιουλ 2009 · Hank Ford used Hard Rock Maple a lot in his cars. Of course he owned the forest where the wood was harvested. A buddy just did a bunch of wood kit copying for my deuce 3w and when it came time to choose a species of wood, I was talked out of maple because it's so damn hard. Even to put screws or staples into can be a chore, so we used cherry wood.
29 Οκτ 2010 · Build a restraining hook to anchor your tubing at one end of the hickey, secure the hickey in a large vice and then start moving the long free end of the tubing. 19 Ιουλ 2013 · from Richmond, Va. Virginia HAMB (ers) Replaced the wood in a 32' Chevy 5 window by fabricating three dimensional pieces to replicate the wood as close as possible. Cutting the profile of each side in the flat (like dugbred shows above) and then welding the pieces together.

The 1936 Masters and 1936 Pickups were still wood structured with wood structured doors. 1937 the entire line shifted to the new style of construction.
