Muscogee Nation. The Muscogee Nation, or Muscogee (Creek) Nation, [3] is a federally recognized Native American tribe based in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The nation descends from the historic Muscogee Confederacy, a large group of indigenous peoples of the Southeastern Woodlands.
23 Οκτ 2023 · The once-mighty Muscogee Nation was down, but its spirit was not destroyed. Despite continued hardships, its citizens carved a new life for themselves in Oklahoma. In 1867, the Muscogee began operating under the guidance of a written constitution and code of laws.

War, violence, poverty, land loss through treaties, and Congress’ American Indian Removal Act drastically changed the Muscogee way of life. In 1814 the Muscogee fought a war with United States to try to keep their lands. One battle took place at a location known as Horseshoe Bend.
