25 Σεπ 2019 · Learn how a black hole’s gravity warps light and space, creating a distorted and dynamic accretion disk. See stunning images and animations of a simulated black hole, based on Einstein’s relativity and the Event Horizon Telescope.
Experience what happens when you fall into a black hole with a new, immersive visualization produced on the NCCS Discover supercomputer. Learn more about the science and technology behind this stunning simulation and how it enhances NASA's Earth Science capabilities.
25 Σεπ 2019 · The visualization simulates the appearance of a black hole where infalling matter has collected into a thin, hot structure called an accretion disk. The black hole’s extreme gravity skews light emitted by different regions of the disk, producing the misshapen appearance.
