Note: Buoy WVHTs are combined seas whereas Ship WVHTs are observed wind wave heights. DPD Dominant wave period (seconds) is the period with the maximum wave energy.
DART® real-time tsunami monitoring systems, developed by PMEL, are positioned at strategic locations throughout the ocean and play a critical role in tsunami forecasting.
6 Νοε 1999 · TRITON buoys have replaced ATLAS buoys at 12 sites along 137°E, 147°E, and 156°E beginning in 1999 as indicated in the table below. TRITON has been implemented in close collaboration with TAO under the auspices of CLIVAR, GOOS, and GCOS. TRITON buoys are serviced by the Japanese research vessel MIRAI.
The National Data Buoy Center's Observation Search page. It generates a list of ship, buoy, and C-MAN observations for a specific area and time period. Area can be selected by point-radius.
9 Σεπ 2019 · The National Data Buoy Center provides real-time environmental observations collected from buoys around the world. View both recent and historical information on ocean and weather conditions, as well as any current tsunami activity.
The NDBC compiles coastal and offshore weather observations from NOAA fixed and drifting data buoys and C-MAN stations. Moored buoys are deployed in all U.S. coastal and offshore waters, from the western Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean around Hawaii, and from the Bering Sea to the South Pacific.
