8 Μαΐ 2019 · In my experience, it doesn't persist indefinitely, but there is also no way to fix it (that i was aware of) and it has been occurring again for me over the past week now. (Feb 2020) I was able to get it to fit the screen correctly by opening up my gmail in a new Window.

Choose the file with the filter you'd like to import. Click Open file. Click Create filters. At the bottom of the page, click Export.
BUT please also confirm what App you're actually using on your phones. I have three mobile apps on my phone and the Gmail App does NOT appear to have the split screen feature. Another app does, but only when the phone is rotated to landscape, so I would never have known, because I don't rotate my phone.
