The Passenger Pigeon (Ectopistes migratorius) was a bird species native to North America. During the 19th century, it was the most abundant.
At one point in time there was said to be 3 billion passenger pigeons and were possibly the most abundant bird in North America. Around 1914, they became extinct. In this story map, we are going to explore the reasons why these birds became extinct.
