21 Ιουλ 2023 · 1893: Guido Pfister and his son, Charles, debuted “The Pfister Hotel.” Designed with some of the finest Romanesque Revival-style architecture seen in Milwaukee, the hotel contained many groundbreaking features, such as fireproofing, electricity, and thermostat controls in every guestroom.
When it opened its doors in 1893, The Pfister Hotel was called “The Grand Hotel of the West.” Architect Charles Koch’s Romanesque Revival design incorporated innovative construction and an in-house electrical power plant, which made it America’s first hotel with individual thermostats in each guestroom.
