1 Απρ 2022 · The members of the Physician Assistant Affiliated Credentialing Board are appointed by the Governor, and confirmed by the Legislature, to serve 4-year terms. The Board consists of eight physician assistant members licensed under Wis. Stat. ch. 448, Subch. VIII and one public member.
The Master of Physician Assistant Studies (PA) program prepares students to be knowledgeable, competent, culturally-sensitive and compassionate physician assistants, committed to excellence in the delivery of comprehensive health care.
State laws define and regulate the scope of practice for physician assistants, and establish licensure and competency requirements. Licensure as a PA in Wisconsin is initially granted by the Medical Examining Board and subject to renewal every two years.
The scope of practice of PAs currently licensed in WI is defined under Chapter Med 8 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code governing the state’s Medical Examining Board. Scope and Limitations are outlined in Med 8.07.
