Discover the difference between direct-acting pressure reducing valves and pilot-operated pressure reducing valves in steam systems.
Spirax Sarco US Pressure Reducing & Surplussing Valves can reduce or maintain steam pressure accurately, reliably & economically for the application.
A valve that senses and controls the downstream pressure is often referred to as a ‘let-down’ valve or ‘pressure reducing valve’ (PRV). Such valves can be used to maintain constant steam pressure onto a control valve, a steam flowmeter, or directly onto a process.
The DP163 pressure reducing valve will accurately control downstream pressure, regardless of the upstream pressure, or load variations. Color coded, interchangeable springs allow quick and easy change of downstream pressure range eliminating the need to isolate the valve or break the steam line.
Steam pressure reducing valves are used in commercial, industrial, and institutional applications to regulate steam pressure. Used in applications such as oil lines, testing fixtures, autoclaves, steam tables/irons, single radiators, and vulcanizers.
Pressure reducing valves, or PRVs for short, are used to lower the pressure to an acceptable level for the steam application. This valve automatically adjusts to maintain the desired steam pressure, compensating for fluctuations in the steam flow.
G4-2043 – Bailey Birkett Bronze Pressure Reducing Valve for Steam, Air & Gases. Manufactured by Bailey Birkett, the G4 series of pilot operated pressure reducing valves provide extremely accurate levels of pressure regulation for steam, air and industrial gas applications.
