Any file you download that isn't an executable file cannot be a virus. Rom Files cannot be infected with viruses. While executable files are indeed a common target for viruses and malicious software, it is overly simplistic to assert that files without the .exe extension are inherently safe.

Backup. To celebrate the PlayStation 2's 22nd anniversary on Wednesday I have uploaded my complete US manual collection- personally scanned and edited to 4K resolution- to archive.org. 17GB of goodiness across 1795 titles plus an additional ~100 variants, art books, mini-guides, and comics. The upload is done- it's "processing" now.
