22 Δεκ 2014 · Love this park with a great location across from NC State. Features a terrific statue of Andy and Opie, a working carousel, a train, and plenty of picnic areas. Great spot for birdwatching as well. If you enjoy nature and relaxing, don't miss out on a visit to Pullen Park. A must see for Andy Griffith fans!
Free admission; small fee for amusement rides. Hours vary; call or visit website for more details. Established in 1887 and designated as the first public park in N.C., Pullen Park in Raleigh is the fifth oldest amusement park in the U.S. and the 16th oldest in the world.
Pullen Park is a 66.4-acre (0.27 km 2) [2] public park immediately west of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. It is located on Ashe Avenue and is adjacent to the Main and Centennial campuses of North Carolina State University, covering an area between Western Boulevard and historic Hillsborough Street. [1]
The best time to visit the park is on the weekdays. If you visit on a busier day and the main parking lot is full, you can usually find parking along the side of the park near the picnic shelters, just past the Aquatic Center. You can also park for free at the Governor Morehead School and the Coliseum Parking Deck on the weekends.
14 Οκτ 2024 · From Nov. 29 to Dec. 19, Pullen Amusements will be closed. The park grounds will be open until 4 p.m. each event day. No picnic shelters will be available. Please be sure to visit the Chavis Carousel during their operating hours throughout this period.
