The election of the Regional Governor, Regional Vice Governor, and members of the Regional Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region In Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) set forth in Republic Act No. 8953 is hereby reset accordingly.
In 2001, Republic Act No. 9054 was passed for the expansion of the region by including the areas which initially rejected inclusion and the provinces which were carved from them. However, only the city of Marawi and the province of Basilan, with the exception of Isabela, opted to be integrated in the region.
A new law, Republic Act No. 9054, was passed by Congress on February 7, 2001, with a view to expand the territory and powers of the ARMM by amending the original Organic Act (R.A. No. 6734) and calling for a plebiscite to ratify the amendments and confirm which other provinces and cities would like to join the region. [21]

The Organic Act for the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) is also known as Republic Act No. 9054. It was enacted on March 31, 2001, and aims to expand and strengthen the powers of the ARMM in the Philippines.
2 Σεπ 1996 · The Expanded ARMM Law or Republic Act 9054 was passed in 2001. As called for by the 1996 accord, Republic Act 9054 provided for a new 24 seat Regional Assembly for the ARMM in which current ARMM provinces and new provinces could vote to join the ARMM.
Executive Order No. 463 (May 17, 1991) established the relationship between the Regional Development Board of the ARMM and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board. Republic Act No. 9054 (March 13, 2001) strengthened RA 6734, the organic act creating the ARMM.
