Houston Raceway Park, formerly known as Royal Purple Raceway, is a quarter-mile dragstrip in Baytown, Texas, just outside Houston. Built in 1988, the Park is situated on 500 acres on the eastern edge of the greater Houston metropolitan area and is Houston's only major multi-purpose motorsports venue.
In 1999, the finest weekly racing 3/8 mile High Banked Dirt oval track was built. Today, Royal Purple is also home to Challenge Races--excellent opportunities for team building, fundraising and convention attendee activities.

Call before you go, I would definitely give it another try, it looks like a really nice dirt track with nice bathrooms and concessions area. Parking was ok when we went but if it had ben raining it would have been a little rough in the grassy areas.
