My guess would be that either the s-video output is being derived from the composite by filtering rather than from a dedicated processed output from the graphics processor or that a setting is incorrect on the console.
25 Δεκ 2012 · S-Video or Y/C is also supported, but again, very few VHS players ever outputted an S-Video signal, unless they were Super VHS players. You therefore need to check what outputs are available on your VHS player, as well as the input on the DVD recorder.

However, not all scart (inputs) are capable of accepting an s-video input (because s-video uses some of the scart pins used for rgb) so you'll need to check which scart inputs can accept s-video.
