Your icons can be missing from your desktop for two reasons. First, try to right-click on the desktop and click on View. Next check the Show Desktop Icons item.
I believe all of them except "Recycle Bin" can be placed on the desktop by right-clicking the item in the Start Menu and choosing "Show on Desktop."
