Soil & Water - Yours for Life! Soil and Water Conservation Districts are subdivisions of State Government. There are 96 Districts in North Carolina, covering the state’s 100 counties. Districts promote the wise use and management of our natural resources - soil, water, air, plants and animals.

We participate in the NC Soil & Water Educational Contests, including Poster, Speech, Slideshow, and Essay contests on a particular theme each year. These contests give students an opportunity to explore soil and water conservation through art, writing, and public speaking.
