22 Αυγ 2023 · Use Sound settings to turn the startup sound (chime) on or off. Depending on which Mac and macOS you're using, you might hear a startup sound shortly after pressing the power button to turn on your Mac. With macOS Big Sur 11 or later, you can control whether your Mac plays this sound.

Everytime I turn on my Macbook Pro it makes a start up noise. This is annoying since there is no volume or ability to turn it off. I just don't want the sound to play at all. How do I disable this startup sound?
31 Αυγ 2011 · I've tried two ways to disable the Start-up songs. First option is manually stopping the sound by pressing the mute key (F10) every time I wish to shutdown or restart my mac. however, it's the temporary solution. Another way is using Arcana StartupSound.prefPane.
