9 Φεβ 2023 · Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a rare type of cancer that begins in white blood cells called T cells (T lymphocytes). These cells normally help your body's germ-fighting immune system. In cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, the T cells develop abnormalities that make them attack the skin.
There are 2 main types of skin lymphoma: cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL) starts in the T cells of the skin. cutaneous B cell lymphoma (CBCL) starts in the B cells of the skin. CTCL is the most common type of skin lymphoma. It causes flat red patches on the skin that look like eczema and can be itchy.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is the most common type of primary cutaneous lymphoma, which begins in white blood cells (T-cells). It presents cutaneously when malignant T-cells accumulate on the skin as patches, papules, nodules, plaques, or tumours.
You can develop tumors where you have plaques on your skin or on skin without signs of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Some patients have patches, plaques, and tumors (A). In darker skin tones (B), the tumors may be reddish in color to purple.
