Fictionary, also known as the Dictionary Game [1] or simply Dictionary, [2] is a word game in which players guess the definition of an obscure word. Each round consists of one player selecting and announcing a word from the dictionary , and other players composing a fake definition for it.

Balderdash is a board game variant of a classic parlour game known as Fictionary or the Dictionary Game. It was created by Laura Robinson and Paul Toyne of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The game was first released in 1984 by the Canada Games Company.
One player searches through a large dictionary to find a word she expects no one in the group knows. She announces the word to the group, and each of the other players writes down a made-up definition, trying to make it as plausible as possible.
The aim of the game is for the winner team to win most points by choosing the correct definition of a word or to fool the other teams to choose your group’s fake definition for the word.
Object of the game: To determine what the actual definition of a word is out of many choices. And the choices can get really funny! You’ll need: A Dictionary. Paper and Pencil for each player. To Play: The leader of the game will select an odd, unusual word from the dictionary.
