ON THE I-10 FREEWAY: Vehicles with three or more occupants will be able to use Metro ExpressLanes toll-free at all hours. Vehicles with two occupants pay a toll during peak hours (5am-9am; 4pm-7pm) but will have toll-free access during off-peak hours.
Metro ExpressLanes on the I-10 and I-110 is designed to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow, and provide travel options in Los Angeles County. Metro ExpressLanes are managed lanes where toll prices are based on real-time traffic conditions and vary according to the level of congestion using dynamic pricing.
The 405 Express Lanes use electronic tolling to keep traffic flowing. There are no toll booths or cash payments. FasTrak® transponders are required to use the express lanes.
