14 Ιουλ 2024 · Toxaway Falls, an impressive 150 foot waterfall, is located next to Highway 64 in North Carolina between Brevard and Cashiers. Toxaway Falls starts at Lake Toxaway and flows over an interesting almost striped looking bedrock in an incredible 240 feet elevation change before disappearing into the forest.
One of the highlights of Gorges State Park is Toxaway Falls, which you will drive over is you’re coming to Gorges from Brevard NC. Another of the prime draws for Gorges State park is the Rainbow Falls Trail and Rainbow Falls.
Toxaway Falls. From the intersection of Highways NC 215 and US 64, travel west on 64. Cross over the top of this 123-foot-high waterfall just below Toxaway Dam. DIRECTIONS
Lake Toxaway is the largest privately held lake in North Carolina. The lake, developed by the Lake Toxaway Company , is man-made and covers 640 acres (2.6 km 2 ) 60 feet (18 m), and the shoreline is 14 miles (23 km).
Unless you get a room at one of the resort cabins or you’re the super rugged type who enjoys bushwacking and making your own trails (or coming in through another part of Gorges State Park and walking upstream), you’re only going to see the top of Toxaway Falls.
