The ZR engine is a family of straight-four 16-valve all-aluminum and water cooled gasoline engines with a die-cast aluminum block and variable valve timing developed by Toyota Motor Corporation, produced from 2007. Engines displace from 1.6 to 2.0 liters.
A narrow-valve (22.3°) DOHC 16-valve carburetor-equipped version, the 4A-F, was produced from 1987 through 1990. Output was 70 kW (95 PS; 94 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 13.8 kg⋅m (135 N⋅m; 100 lbf⋅ft) at 3,600 rpm (compression at 9.5:1, EU spec).
The head is DOHC 16-valve and made of aluminum alloy. It has hydraulic lifters (the 2AZ has not). There are two camshafts, and each of them is equipped with a variable valve timing system called Dual-VVTi. There are roller rockers for the valvetrain. The engine was developed by applying low friction technologies.
The engine has aluminum DOHC 16-valve cylinder head with variable valve timing system VVTi on the intake camshaft only. The 2AZ uses a timing chain to rotate camshafts. There are no hydraulic lifters. The adjustment of valve clearance is required every 60,000 miles (100,000 km).
25 Οκτ 2024 · The Toyota 2AZ-FE features a lightweight aluminum block with thin cast-iron cylinder liners and 16-valve DOHC aluminum head with four valves per cylinder (two intakes and two exhaust).
It has four valves per cylinder (16 valves total) and double overhead camshafts. The valves are actuated by roller rocker arms. The valvetrain is equipped with hydraulic lash adjusters (no valve clearance adjustment required). The engine also uses a timing chain to rotate the camshafts.
The Toyota 3S-FE is a 16-valve 2.0 L twin camshaft, single cam gear engine built by Toyota from 1986 to 2000. European version produces 128 PS (94 kW; 126 hp) at 7,900 rpm and 179 Nm (132 ft-lb) at 4,400 rpm without a catalytic converter; with, maximum power is 121 PS (89 kW; 119 hp). [12]
