The degree explores state-of-the-art and novel experiences in video game development across genres, audiences, and platforms. Students gain foundational skills in game technology and game design, and advanced skills in methods of game development that maximize creativity and expression.
A two-course game development sequence (Game Development Experience and Game Development Patterns) and a two-quarter comprehensive sequence (Rapid Prototyping and Game Design Studio) allow students to develop complex computer games and integrate materials from the rest of the program.
