6 Δεκ 2017 · The Oregon Trail, a 2,000-mile route from Independence, Missouri, to Oregon City, Oregon, was used by hundreds of thousands of pioneers in the mid-1800s to emigrate west.
The Oregon Trail was a 2,170-mile (3,490 km) [1] east–west, large-wheeled wagon route and emigrant trail in the United States that connected the Missouri River to valleys in Oregon Territory. The eastern part of the Oregon Trail crossed what is now the states of Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming.

Oregon Trail pioneer Ezra Meeker erected this boulder near Pacific Springs on Wyoming's South Pass in 1906. [1] The historic 2,170-mile (3,490 km) [2] Oregon Trail connected various towns along the Missouri River to Oregon's Willamette Valley.
The Oregon Trail was an overland trail between Independence, Missouri, and Oregon City, near present-day Portland, Oregon, in the Willamette River valley. It was one of the two main emigrant routes to the American West in the 19th century, the other being the southerly Santa Fe Trail.
Start in the west at: Oregon. Start in the east at: Provincetown. This US-20 road trip route loosely follows the Oregon Trail, stopping in at museums, diners, and small towns from Oregon to Massachusetts.
