What follows are examples, not intended to be a complete list. I'm not sure about the "infinite set." That point was made in the excerpt, wasn't mine. –

  8. 9 Μαΐ 2013 · Diary also means a personal journal. I understand (and Kristina Lopez confirms) that in the US only the latter is called a diary, and calendar covers the first two meanings. The calendar in Microsoft, Google etc systems partakes of the nature of both a calendar (UK) and a diary (UK).

  9. As noted above, instead of "I," constructions such as "this researcher" are normal. "We" is a pronoun used when one author is writing on behalf of a team or group, but usually "the researchers" or the passive voice is used. It also depends on both the field and the journal in question. –
